QA Engineer
Location: CA - Pasadena
Position Purpose:
We are looking for an individual with programming skills to join our Quality Assurance team to play a key role in the effort to convert our extensive manual test suite into automated test scripts. This could be an entry level Quality Assurance position for the candidate with demonstrable programming experience. This individual will work with other members of the Quality Assurance team to refine and extend the test processes already in place, by creating and executing both manual and automated test plans, and troubleshooting test problems. This person will also help to build out the QA infrastructure to enable better test coverage of the client-server components of the X1 Enterprise platform.
Key Position Accountabilities:
Writing automated test scripts, developing test plans, and participating in manual testing. Validating proper functionality of program features under development, investigating program malfunctions, and clearly communicating test observations through written bug reports. Working with other QA and development personnel to explore and resolve issues. Ensuring that new and legacy program features are reliable and function as documented for each release.
Requirements:
This position requires programming experience. Demonstrable ability with Visual Basic, Java, C++ or other programming language is a must. For the candidate with proven programming skills, this position could be an entry to Quality Assurance. Experience with the Microsoft stack - Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista; MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.); browsers - IE, Netscape, Mozilla; PC hardware and software installation and troubleshooting.
Ability to work closely and cooperatively with development staff. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
