Sales Engineer

Location: CA - Pasadena

Position Purpose:
We are looking for an individual with proven SE skills to join our sales organization. Key functions include the following:
  • Understand each customer's technical requirements and goals
  • Provide product demonstrations
  • Understand, assess and propose solutions for resolving customer questions and issues during the sales process
  • Design and implement Proof of Concept Projects using the X1 Enterprise client/server architecture
  • Work in a team environment and be willing to travel to the customer locations to perform work (some international travel may required)
  • Help the customer transition to their new X1 Enterprise Solution by providing guidance and training
Key Position Accountabilities:
The Sales Engineer is responsible for the technical sales activities that achieve the revenue objectives determined by the company for the region/area where assigned. In order to accomplish these objectives, the SE should have proven experience with soliciting business requirements, developing a technical sales strategy, configuring and effectively demonstrating the solutions that address these requirements and provide business value. Demonstrations include presentations to business and technical audiences ranging from end users to Sr. Executives using a variety of methods including Microsoft's PowerPoint, standup "chalk talks", Webex/GoToMeeting, etc. Candidate will also provide tier-2 Enterprise support for the Customer Care team.

Requirements:
Expert knowledge in NT, Active Directory, and Exchange. Strong verbal and written communications skills as well as effective human relations skills, a pro-active approach to the sales process and professional presentation skills are required. Strong understanding of networking protocols and general connectivity in enterprise environments a plus.

Desired Education / Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering discipline
  • 2-4 years of technical support or technical sales/consulting experience
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Search products is a plus
  • Thorough knowledge of Windows 2003 Server, Exchange and IIS
  • Enterprise Search Technology Experience is a plus
  • Enterprise Content Management Experience a plus
