New Features
- Modified Installer to allow setting X1 as the Default Search Engine in Windows Vista SP1
- The X1 installer will register the X1 client as a desktop search engine.
- The X1 installer will allow user to define the X1 client as the default desktop search engine.
- As the default desktop search engine, the user can send queries to X1 via the Start menu search box, Windows Explorer, Windows Logo Key + F, and the F3 key.
- Once the query is sent, the X1 client opens with search results corresponding to the query, based on the X1 query syntax.
- The query will include a "crumb" when issued from Windows Explorer.
- X1 will ignore subqueries (windows saved searches), inputlocale, keywordlocale, stackedby and displayname parameters.
- Other applications such as Outlook, Office 2007 and third party apps will continue to query the Windows Search engine by default.
- Bundled X1 Web Services Plugin
- The plugin allows users to index RSS 2.0 and ATOM 1.0 feeds.
- To add a feed, open the "Select Sources" dialog, select the RSS plugin, and click on the add button.
- On the Add Source Dialog, enter a URL location for the RSS/ATOM feed, update the default source name, and click OK.
- If the feed is successfully added, X1 will automatically create a saved search with the source name and index the feed contents.
- Feeds are indexed every 60 minutes by default. You may change the default indexing schedule for every feed in the options menu.
- Index and federate your favorite feeds into a single, actionable view with the RSS WebServices plugin.
- Added icon for X1i plugin files.
Enhancements
- New Registration Key Mechanism
- New registration key mechanism allows X1 to limit future upgrades.
- Disable X1 Professional Client After 30-day Trial
- Updated reminder dialog to indicate X1 will expire at the end of the 30-day trial.
- Updated reminder dialog to allow user to add registration key.
- Implemented modal dialog that will display the trial has expired after the 30-day trial.

New Features
- Symantec Enterprise Vault v6 for Microsoft Exchange with Offline Vault indexing support.
- Indexing is disabled by default and needs to be enabled via a separate installer (contact X1 to obtain installer).
- Symantec Offline Vault databases are detected and added as Outlook PST folders on first run.
- Symantec Offline Vault are indexed on the same schedule as Outlook.
- Symantec Offline Vault items display "Outlook Offline Vault" in the "Connector Type" column.
- Users may de-select individual Symantec Offline Vault folders via the Options/Indexing/Select Folders to Scan dialog.
- Users may turn off Symantec Offline Vault via an Options/Indexing/Outlook Options checkbox option.
- The following Post Search Actions are not supported with KVS results: delete, go to folder, mark read, and mark unread.
- Symantec Offline Vault indexing may be configured via the Deployment Manager.
- System Administrators may disable Symantec Offline Vault indexing via Group Policy Objects.
- Multi Locale Query (MLQ) Support.
- MLQ Support enables users to configure numbers and dates formatting in system regional settings in the results list.
- MLQ Support enables users to search for numbers using their current format, and dates using one of many pre-defined formats, and get results for numbers and dates that don't necessarily match those formats.
- IFilter text extraction support.
- X1 detects installed IFilters on startup and utilizes them for text extraction by default.
- Stellent text extraction is used for file formats not supported by installed IFilters.
- The "Indexing Status" column indicates if the item was indexed with IFilter or Stellent.
- System Administrators may disable individual or all IFilter text extraction via Group Policy Objects.
- Implemented list of default file types that are not indexed with IFilter by defaults. List includes ZIP files.
- System Administrators may override default list of file types excluded from IFilter text extraction by enabling the Group Policy Objects policy.

- On first run X1 will detect and load all local, replica and Domino databases installed in the Lotus Notes client - except Domino databases that correspond to a local replica.

- Users may change the default indexing setting to index the Domino database instead of the corresponding replica via the Options/Lotus Notes/Select Databases to scan.

- Five days before the 30-day trial ends the user will be notified the feature trial will expire.
- Users can purchase a feature license from X1 to enable the trial feature permanently.

- Updated the default setting for "carry search terms over between searches" to require clicking the "Shift" key.
