As Chief Executive Officer, Tod leads the company's strategy and oversees all operations. Tod has been with X1 since 2005. Prior to his current position, he served as the company's Director of Engineering and was responsible for the technical development of the .NET/WPF-based X1 Professional Client and the Java-based X1 Enterprise Server. Before joining X1, Tod was the Director of Engineering at Temcor, a structural engineering firm. While there, he worked to modernize the software used to automate the design and fabrication of geodesic aluminum domes. Prior to his tenure with Temcor, Tod was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, serving aboard the submarine USS Louisiana, SSBN 743, where he guided the ship through new construction and was involved in the validation and testing of the systems and crew.
Brent is the Product Development and Practice Management Lead for X1. Brent has more than 13 years of experience as an eDiscovery Consultant, Forensic Examiner. As an expert practitioner, Brent is uniquely positioned as a Leader in the Industry, drawing upon his diverse international experience having performed computer forensics and eDiscovery investigations for Federal and State Law Enforcement Agencies, Foreign Government, Department of Defense, Financial, Healthcare, Motion Picture, Energy and Manufacturing, among others. Prior to X1, Brent spent seven years at Guidance Software, where he was the primary product manager and feature designer for Guidance Software's EnCase® eDiscovery solution. Before Guidance Software he was a computer forensics investigator with the FBI, assigned to the Computer Crime Unit. His qualifications include Certified EnCase® Examiner – EnCE®, FBI Computer Analysis and Response Team (CART) as well as the Dataflight Certified FYI Administrator Program (DCFA) certifications. Brent has a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science.
Cathryn Goodman oversees the marketing strategy and execution at X1. Cathryn is a customer success driven marketing executive responsible for global campaign and product marketing, customer relations, branding and marketing communications. Cathryn has several years of experience with building successful eDiscovery software companies. At Guidance Software (NASDAQ: GUID), she oversaw all marketing programs, with an emphasis on the eDiscovery portfolio. In her five years at the company, Cathryn designed and implemented integrated marketing campaigns that consistently delivered successful results. Prior to joining Guidance Software, Cathryn led event planning teams in Los Angeles, producing an extensive range of high profile corporate and private events for seven years. Cathryn earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada.
As Vice President of X1 Search Solutions, Michael oversees X1's standard and virtual desktop search solutions. Joining X1 in 2010, Michael focuses on X1's large enterprise deployments and strategic partners, as well as working closely with product marketing, customer care, and product development. Prior to joining X1, Michael spent four years practicing law in the fields of securities and consumer class actions. Michael earned an undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University and a JD from New England School of Law.
As Executive Chairman of the Board, John shapes and guides the company's strategy and vision. He has an extensive background and expertise in enterprise software, eDiscovery and corporate compliance, combining strong knowledge of both the law and the supporting technologies in those areas. Prior to joining X1, John served nearly a decade at Guidance Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: GUID) where he held several senior management positions, including Chief Strategy Officer, Vice Chairman, Chief Legal Officer and President and CEO. While at Guidance, John led the transition of the company from start-up to a major enterprise software firm and grew revenues from $5 million to $40 million during his 3-year tenure as CEO. Prior to joining Guidance, John spent eight years practicing law in the fields of commercial litigation and business transactions. John received an undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California and a JD from the Santa Clara University School of Law.
